This is turning out to be a huge day for news on the Star Wars Anthology films. Not only did we learn that Phil Lord and Chris Miller will direct a young Han Solo movie for 2018, but now an iconic Star Wars character is rumored to appear in Gareth Edwards' Star Wars: Rogue One.
According to Birth.Movies.Death, Darth Vader will appear "behind the scenes", possibly via a viewscreen or holo projection. Makes sense, right? This is a film dealing with the rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans, so having Vader show up to issue orders should fit right in. As for Grand Moff Tarkin, the Imperial leader who actually ran the Death Star, he's still unconfirmed at this point.
Set to star Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Sam Claflin, and Ben Mendelsohn, Star Wars: Rogue One opens December 16th 2016.
