Jesse Owens Sprints to Glory in First Trailer for 'Race'

The name Stephen James may not be familiar yet, but he can boast to playing two of the most important figures in African-American history. Last year he made his breakout turn in Selma as civil rights leader and eventual U.S. Represenative John Lewis. And now in the upcoming biopic Race he's taking on the role of legendary Olympic track & field star Jesse Owens, whose accomplishments made sports history.

The first trailer for Race has hit the starting line, depicting the true story of Owens' life and career that would eventually lead him to the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. It was there Owens won four gold medals and faced down Hitler's vision of an Aryan supremacy. Stephen Hopkins (Predator 2)) directs while Jason Sudeikis, Carice Van Houten, William Hurt, Jeremy Irons, and Shanice Banton co-star.

Race sprints into theaters on February 19th 2016.
