Eric Johnson Gets 'Fifty Shades Darker', Armie Hammer And Dev Patel Enter 'Hotel Mumbai'

Eric Johnson (Cinemax's The Knick) has just landed his biggest film role yet in Fifty Shades Darker, playing the appropriately-named Jack Hyde. Hyde is the boss of Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele, and when he begins to pursue her romantically it doesn't make Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) very happy. Kim Basinger, Arielle Kebbel, and Bella Heathcote are new additions to the cast, joining the returning Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini. James Foley is directing the film which opens February 10th 2017. [Variety]

Dev Patel is heading back to the hotel, but there's nothing exotic about this one. The actor, along with Armie Hammer (The Man from UNCLE), Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland), Teresa Palmer (Triple 9), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) and Anupam Kher (Silver Linings Playbook) are in talks to join Hotel Mumbai, a drama based on the 2008 terror attack on the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Anthony Maras is directing the film, which is based on the documentary Surviving Mumbai, which was nominated for an Emmy. This is actually the second film on the terror attacks underway right now, as Justin Kurzel (Assassin's Creed) is planning one of his own. [Deadline]
