'The Dark Tower' Adds 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Star Abbey Lee

Australian supermodel-turned-actress Abbey Lee has only been acting for about a year, but she's totallly made the most of it. She played one of the five wives in Mad Max: Fury Road, and has a role in Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon. But now she's just landed her biggest part yet, joining the long-developing adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower, which looks like it is really moving forward.

Lee would take on the female lead of Tirana, who is actually a minor supporting character in King's books. She joins the previously-cast Idris Elba as gunslinger Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey as Randall Flag aka "The Man in Black". Nikolaj Arcel is on board to direct the first part of what is expected to be a massive franchise that will include big screen sequels and a companion TV series.

While it's great that casting is underway now, the January 13th 2017 release date is a problem. Don't be surprised if that date gets bumped a few months, or perhaps even into 2018.
