New 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Red Band Trailer Chooses Violence, Of Course
So has that whole "Is Jon Snow really dead?" question finally been put to bed? The character has certainly been shown in previous teasers for Game of Thrones' sixth season, suggesting that Kit Harington is not done with the HBO series just yet. But as he tells Time Out, Snow may be sticking around a little bit, but it won't be as fans might have hoped....
"Look, I’m not in the show any more. I’m definitely not in the new series....I filmed some scenes of me being dead – [jokily] it’s some of my best work."
Okay...so settled not settled? Harington added that he doesn't know much about the plan for season 6 or the fate of Jon Snow beyond his being a dead body with really amazing hair...
"I don’t have a clue. I know how long I’m a corpse for, but I can’t tell you that!"
And it may be that Harington doesn't actually know squat, because HBO is being hella secret about this upcoming season. In fact, they aren't even sending out advance screeners (not that they've been giving US any!!) this time, putting all of us on equal footing. However, they've been nice enough to drop a new red band trailer that features the first actual footage from the upcoming season, and for those who are eager there is much to chew on. There's violence on top of violence (Ser Davos!!!), naturally, despite the subtle sounds of James Vincent McMorrow providing the music. And there's also, once again, the suggestion that magical means could be used to bring Jon Snow back from the dead.
Game of Thrones returns for its sixth season on April 24th.
