Sony Pictures has confirmed via press release and their Twitter page, that the upcoming Spider-Man reboot will be released in 3-D. The Marc Webb(500 Days of Summer) helmed project, the first without longtime director Sam Raimi, will is due to swing into theaters on July 3rd, 2012. James Vanderbilt is handling scripting chores.
No casting info is available as of yet, although my money remains on Zac Efron playing the role of the wallcrawler, due to his close relationship with Brian Michael Bendis, who's writing is largely the basis for the direction the franchise has taken.
