New 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' red band trailer

Although the first couple of trailers for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter have looked great with all the speed ramping, axe-swinging action, the truth is that they really haven't excited me all that much. A lot of it has to do with my lukewarm reaction to Seth Grahame-Smith's book, which is cool on the surface but never truly capitalizes on the potential of a horror/historical mash-up involving one of our greatest Presidents. Grahame-Smith adapted his novel for the film, and also wrote the script for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, which also suffered from his inability to crash two opposing genres together in a fun way. Burton serves as a producer on this film, as well.

So maybe I'm just being overly harsh, as there's no doubt that special effects wiz, Timur Bekmambetov(Wanted), is throwing every crazy visual flourish he can find to make this film look gorgeous, which it definitely does. A new red band trailer has been released, and it shows this is going to be the bloodiest movie about Honest Abe ever. Benjamin Walker stars as Lincoln, who splits his time as the leader of this country during the day, and its protector from the undead at night. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Rufus Sewell, and Alan Tudyk co-star. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22nd....
