Hey, remember that Tarzan trilogy that's being prepped by Craig Brewer? Well, this isn't it. There is another film based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs character being developed over at Constantin, and they just locked down hunky Twilight co-star, Kellan Lutz, to wear the CGI animated loincloth.
Wait, wha? CGI? Yep, this version won't be live-action, but will instead be motion captured for your pleasure. Actually, it'll probably wind up pissing off the ladies who show up to see Lutz's pecs, and will instead get digital mush. The film will be directed by Reinhard Kloos, who directed the German animated film, Animals United. It was basically Madagascar, and featured a bunch of anthropomorphic animal foolishness. Starting to get an idea what we may be in for?
On the plus side, Spencer Locke has won the role of Jane, of "Me Tarzan, you Jane" fame. Locke is a fast rising actress with a ton of potential, having recently appeared in Resident Evil: Afterlife, and the wacked out genre mash-up, Detention.
Hopefully, this Burroughs adaptation will fare better than John Carter did. Still, this has disaster written all over it. [Deadline]
