Paul Thomas Anderson releases final trailer for 'The Master' with new footage and extended scenes
After years of waiting and a ton of controversy, Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master opened to record breaking numbers a couple of weeks ago. As the film expanded into more theaters the following week, the buzzworthy film continued to rack up incredible dollars, spurred on by strong word of mouth and a story that rewards multiple viewings. As the film expands into a national release tomorrow, Anderson has released one final trailer, appropriately titled 'Last One/Thank You'.
Personally cut by Anderson himself, the footage will look familiar to anyone who was at Cannes this year, but to the rest of us this will feel almost totally new. Much of it includes scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor, and others are extended looks at some key moments. Part of me wishes they had kept that opening tracking shot, but maybe we'll get a totally unedited version on Blu-Ray.
The Master is currently out in many theaters, and should be rolling into your town this weekend. You can check out the trailer below, and also find my review here.....
