Emma Watson Returns for Francesca Gregorini's 'Your Voice In My Head'
Obviously when Emma Watson's name is attached to a film it's going to be looked at as a high priority project. Such was the case with Your Voice In My Head, an adaptation of Emma Forrest's memoir that had Watson joining with her Harry Potter director, David Yates. Warner Bros. had taken a liking to the film when both were involved, but when they dropped out, well so did the studio's interest. Emily Blunt stepped in to replace her for awhile, but now word has arrived out of Toronto that the film is back on with a new director and Watson returning to the lead role.
Francesa Gregorini (Tanner Hall) has come aboard to direct the big screen take on Forrest's memoir, about a bipolar, suicidal New York City woman and the selfless psychiatrist who saved her life while hiding his own struggles. Forrest adapted the screenplay herself, with the script ending up on the Black List. What's unclear is if Stanley Tucci is still attached as Watson's co-star, but considering that was back during the project's early days the search may be on for someone new.
No longer at a major studio, Your Voice In My Head is going the independent route and is securing financing at Toronto. If all goes to plan filming will begin this November. [THR]
