Has Aquaman Been Confirmed for 'Batman v Superman'?
For a character that has mostly been considered a joke there seems to be great demand for Aquaman to appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That may have to do with rumors Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) would be playing the sea-dwelling hero, which would seemingly make him much cooler than any version we've previously seen. As it stands right now Momoa hasn't been confirmed, but a new report from Batman On Film claims he is definitely in. Here are the details of their story which could be considered a little spoilerish...
* “Aquaman” is indeed in the film and did some sort of film test on a water set recently. The character has a very small role in BvS.
* The car chase scenes that will take place this coming weekend will not, most likely, include the Batmobile.
* Those pics online of Ben Affleck (sporting very gray hair on his temples) as Bruce Wayne involve a scene in the film where he’s saving people after some sort of attack on Metropolis (he's was in a Wayne building when it went down it seems) which causes a lot of destruction.
* There’s a very “anti-Superman” theme to the film which includes people marching in the streets in protest against him.
So it sounds like all of that massive destruction and carnage caused by Superman's fight with Zod in Man of Steel will have consequences, at least in terms of public perception. The Aquaman tidbit seems a bit flimsy, though, and merely having a water sequence does not necessarily mean the hero is part of the film. We've heard conflicting stories whether Aquaman will cameo now or further down the line and chances are nothing will be confirmed for some time.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens May 6th 2016.
