Benedict Cumberbatch, John Malkovich, and...Werner Herzog? Hardly the line-up one would expect to be a part of Dreamworks' Penguins of Madgascar, but with the franchise proving to be one of the most successful in animated history it's no wonder big stars are flocking to it.
A new trailer for Penguins of Madgascar has been released and clearly this is one aiming at the kiddies. The film is a spinoff of the $2B-grossing Madgascar movies and reveals that Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private are actually agents in the secret organization, The North Wind. I've seen exactly zero minutes of any Madagascar movies and that's not likely to change, although the espionage angle does look like fun. Here's the official synopsis:
Discover the secrets of the most entertaining and mysterious birds in the global espionage game: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private now must join forces with the chic spy organization, the North Wind, led by Agent Classified (we could tell you his name, but then… you know), voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, to stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, voiced by John Malkovich, from taking over the world.
Penguins of Madasgascar opens November 26th.
