Disney's latest animated film, Zootopia, takes place in a world full of talking animals with names like Judy Hopps (a rabbit, natch) and Nick Wilde. Clearly they aren't aiming too high with this one, but not everything can be Pixar's Inside Out, right? If the kids love it and buy lots of Zootopia merchandise then Disney could have another franchise on their hands, which is really what this is all about.
A new trailer for the film has been released featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, J.K. Simmons, Shakira (that's her new single, "Try Everything"), Idris Elba, Octavia Spencer, Jenny Slate, and more. The story centers on an ambitious bunny cop who turns to a sly fox to solve a big case and prove her worth.
While the animation is beautiful and the the characters perfectly geared for the kiddies, the most interesting aspect of the film is the city itself, a sprawling metropolis full of a diverse array of animal citizens.
Directed by Rich Moore and Byron Howard, Zootopia opens March 4th 2016.
