Javier Bardem To Join Jennifer Lawrence In Darren Aronofsky's Next Film

It took a while for Darren Aronofsky to want to bounce back from Noah's lukewarm response, but when he did he got off on just the right note. Last fall Jennifer Lawrence began circling Aronofsky's next project, which was being kept completely under wraps at the time. Well now new details are emerging, along with a potential co-star for Lawrence in Javier Bardem.

Bardem, last seen in The Gunman alongside Sean Penn and Idris Elba, has entered talks for Aronofsky's indie film which he will produce, write, and direct. The story is vaguely described as centering "on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence."  That doesn't tell us much, but knowing Aronofsky it's only the groundwork for something much larger.

Paramount Pictures, who have come aboard to distribute the film, should be thrilled with a combination of Lawrence and Bardem at the top of the card. Aronofsky plans to have the untitled film ready for next year. [Variety]
